Artist's Comments

The Homonoculi are beyond doll. "Psyche" is the first in a series that explores some of the darker corners of imagination.
This piece has presence... The pics don't do it justice. Let me know what you think.

That doll looks like she is in a lot of pain. Good work.
great concept, too bad i can't see it in person, bet it's really powerful in the round. how big is it? it looks pretty big from here. where'd you get the wings, too? they seem like real ones... from a taxedermied bird or something

Thanks! (I love this piece)
Yeah, I think that she does have a presence that does not come across in pictures. Psyche isn't really that big, about 12 inches tall from head to, um, about 12 inches tall. The wings are real. I was driving home from campus, trying to figure out where I might get some wings for the doll, and a bird flew into my windshield. I know its a little morbid but I figured it was a wothy sacrifice on the bird's part. I took it home and taped it down with the wings spread in an old food dehydrator (one that I do not use for food) overnight, and voila! They kept the shape and there is no smell. I have a friend that does alot of work using animal parts, and she loved the innovation.
Anyway, that's probably more than you wanted to know...
Keep a look out though, I have 3 more pieces from the series ready to post as soon as I can find the cable for my camera...
Thanks again!

Imagining is a dangerous occupation.
Art is a compulsion.
No masks are worn beyond the mirror...
lol my, sounds like God just heard your calling and smote that bird... XD that was quite the coincidence, yeah very good innovation indeed! i never htought of dehydrating o.o then again it's not often that i come across the need to preserve body parts :)

This is beautiful. I like the subtle touches of red around the wrists and the neck. There's so much to look at. Incredible work!

How could I see the future if it didn't already exist?
Thank you very much!

No masks are worn beyond the mirror where butterflies bite.
its awesome, origional and does personify the darker areas of imagination. Im a little freaked out by dolls (and clowns)...but this one is so intriguing , theres something about her that just keeps me staring.
Great peice ... keep it up!
